Photography is strongly influenced by the expansion of technical possibilities. The number of possible images increases through increasingly complex material connections such as photodiodes. Materials become apparatuses through techniques. These apparatuses make images, which in turn are embedded in a society. Certain societies thus produce certain apparatuses and thereby certain images. Images are therefore a reflection of society independent of the motif. Through the technical possibilities and limitations that have inscribed themselves through the process, society reproduces itself. In the work „digital_camera“, the process of a modern system camera is shown schematically. The individual elements are each made of the same material that they are made of in the camera. For example, the elements representing a photodiode are actually depicted on wafers with a silicon oxide coating. The material assemblage that a camera represents can thus be experienced aesthetically.
